Boardwalk Montessori Early Childhood Education
Boardwalk Montessori School provides and maintains a reputation of excellence for the education of children ages 20 months to six years.
An education of excellence means for each child that their individual needs are recognized and a program is provided that will help each child reach their full potential. Developing strong work habits, developing respect for themselves, others and the greater world along with independence, confidence and nurturing a love of learning and curiosity of the world around them.
The Montessori Curriculum is divided into basic areas of the classroom which are accessible to the children. Each material addresses a specific concept or skill and has been designed to appeal to children at various stages of development. Mastery of in an area leads to the next lesson in the sequence. Montessori designed the materials with a built-in ācontrol of errorā to allow the child to self correct her work. The materials first demonstrate the concept concretely and as the child becomes more proficient with a skill the lessons become more abstract. The child learns to problem solve without fear of failure and learns that mistakes are part of the learning process.
